On the night between Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 October, all of Valletta will be lit up and alive for the third edition of Notte Bianca!
Minister for Culture, Ms Dolores Cristina, said that this year Malta will form part of the European White Nights network, which includes cities such as Paris and Brussels, making it a shared cultural event.
The event is aimed to stimulate interest in local arts and culture, as well as being popular with tourists.
The first Notte Bianca in Europe was held in Paris in 2002. With its introduction in Malta in 2006, Notte Bianca was an immediate success, with over 76,000 people arriving in Valletta to participate in the fesitivities.
Ms Cristina said that the event is expected to do just as well this year as it has in previous years. With the list of activities taking place on the night, there is bound to be something to suit all tastes.
Activities and events on the night will include: 36 excerpts from Shakespeares plays performed in both Maltese and English, Latin American and Ballroom dancing in Straight Street, a number of local bands and a childrens activity area.
